History

Award pennants P/L has been operating as a silkscreening company since 1970. The company's founder William Lawson made a modest living hand painting movie theatre poster walls around Melbourne,while studying at art school.

Bill was among the first to pioneer the technology of silk-screening in Australia. In his spare time he trialed many inks, materials and methods to acquire a variety of solutions to meet a rapidly expanding market. Screen printing as it is now commonly known was perhaps most popularised in the 1960's with the art of Andy Warhol.

Award Pennants has carried through three generations, encompassing present technological advances while maintaining our dedication to traditional artisan methods. Our unique history gives us the ability to utilise our experience and expertise to ensure that each product we produce is of the highest quality.
